The Stack in Plain English
Think of it as two layers of the same operation.
Cowork is the operator layer. It is where your team actively works with Claude on live projects. Drafting deliverables. Reviewing client materials. Running workshops. Answering intake questions. Any work that requires a human to make decisions, give feedback, or apply judgment lives in Cowork. The team sees the same context. The project history is shared. Claude Code is the builder and automation layer. It runs in the background. It does not need you present to do its job. Scheduled workflows, data processing, content pipelines, system builds. Claude Code handles the work that should happen automatically, consistently, and without human involvement on each individual run.

1. IP Systematisation
You have frameworks, methodologies, and approaches that live primarily in your head or in bespoke documents you recreate for each client. The goal is to turn that IP into reusable, Claude-accessible skills.
Cowork is where you do the thinking. You and your team work with Claude to document and structure the framework, refine the language, and test it against real client scenarios. The collaborative nature of Cowork means everyone who delivers on the framework contributes to refining it.

Your standard client engagement follows a pattern: intake call, diagnostic, gap analysis, deliverable, review cycle. Parts of that pattern require human judgment. Parts do not.
Cowork handles the human-judgment parts. Reviewing the diagnostic with the client. Running the gap analysis conversation. Deciding which recommendations to prioritise. These are collaborative, live, and judgment-intensive.
Claude Code handles the repeatable parts. Transcribing and scoring the intake call. Generating the first draft of the diagnostic report from the transcript and your scoring skill. Formatting the gap analysis against your framework. Preparing the first draft of the deliverable before the team reviews it in Cowork.
The team spends their time on the work that requires them. The work that does not require them runs automatically.
3. Content Repurposing Pipeline
You produce high-quality content: a podcast episode, a workshop recording, a keynote. That content contains ideas worth distributing across multiple formats and channels. The manual repurposing work is time-intensive and largely formulaic.
A Claude Code pipeline watches for new content inputs, runs the repurposing workflow against your brand voice skill and format templates, and outputs drafted assets to a shared folder. The Cowork team reviews, refines, and approves before publishing.
The pipeline does the heavy lifting. The team does the judgment calls. Neither step requires the other to slow down.
Skills, Plugins, Connectors, and MCP: A 60-Second Orientation

Claude Skills are reusable instruction sets you build and own. They tell Claude how to do a specific job in a specific way.

What to Set Up (The Conceptual Order)
If you are starting from scratch with the combined stack, the order matters.
First, define your skill vault. Decide what goes in it: brand voice, content templates, client frameworks, scoring logic. Document these in plain language before you try to make them machine-readable.
Second, build your Cowork project structure. Organise projects around clients or workstreams. Load your skills into shared project files so the team can reference them.
Third, write your CLAUDE.md. Start with your business context, your rules, and your most important operating preferences. This becomes the persistent briefing document for every Code session.
Fourth, identify one repeating workflow to automate with Claude Code. Pick something formulaic, high-frequency, and low-judgment. Route the output back to a shared location where Cowork users can review and act on it.
